Ecotourism in Chiloe
You will love it! Chiloe with its unique and extravagant beauty!

Chile is the big surprise of ecotourism worldwide and its positions put it in the forefront of environmental preservation. Real actions are being made to transform the country into an example of environmental conservation, as evidence that was approved by 53 votes in favor, none against and no abstentions in the Chamber of the Chilean Senate, as a country free of the predatory hunting cetaceans. All the territorial waters of Chile will be whale sanctuaries. Chile has become one of the first countries in the world with specific legislation, which will be taken to the next meeting of the International Whaling Commission as (CBI), which is held in Florida - USA
Second Gaillete Barbara, president of the CCC - Center for Cetacean Conservation, said that this is
the most important environmental legacy for future generations.

The Director of the Center Eco Oceanos, Juan Carlos Cardenas, said: "This is the first milestone of the twenty-first century in the conservation of species on the planet." All this has a positive impact on the island of Chiloe, where ecosystems are a window to ecotourism.
About 38 km southwest of Ancud, is located in Chepu, an area corresponding to the northern part of the Chiloé National Park, which has been declared by the Commission Nacional de Medio Ambiente (CONAMA) as priority sites for conservation of biodiversity in Chile. It is classified as important area for wetland birds and unique worldwide.

For its geographical isolation of these forests plant is rich in endemic species, that is, only in groups of plants and animals. Over 95% of the approximately 50 species of trees are unique to the forest of southern South America and some of them are rare examples of families whose sole representatives are in the Chilean forest. The dark and damp southern jungle is the exclusive home of little known species. Among them is the shy arboreal marsupial called Monito del Monte (Dromicyops australis), the Chucao (Scelorchilus rubecula), a strange bird essentially ground the Ranita de Darwin (Rhynoderma darwini) and the world's smallest deer, known as Pudu (Pudu Pudu). Research conducted by scientists from this school have shown that many plants and animals that inhabit the forest Chilean there a complex web of ecological interactions and species of trees with a high quality wood.

They are also relevant characteristics of these forests his unusual species diversity of different forms of life dominated by vines, epiphytes, ferns, mosses and lichens, a marked dominance of angiosperms over gymnosperms, unlike many of the northern hemisphere forests. In addition there are mutual relations between plants and animals, both in the process of pollination in the dispersal of seeds. These relationships are less important biotic temperate forests in the northern hemisphere, where conifers are the majority and are pollinated and dispersed by the wind.

Activities such as hiking, eco-camping, fishing and bird watching, and also the global success, the Observervation of Magalhanes and Humboldt Penguins, which is the only part of the world that reproduce together. Is an attraction in part of the island.

There is also the sighting of blue whales in its trans-oceanic trip, the Humboldt Current. Sea lions, the black-necked swans (Ganso del Cuello Negro), flamingos and other animals endemic, can be seen in their natural habitat. For all that, Ancud is positioned as a world of ecotourism.
